A Postcard Mystery

/ /
Here's a view of the Kalamazoo, Michigan Courthouse, postmarked 1907. The message from the sender writes a short message to Ralph, ending with the cryptic sentence: "I am awfully glad Mary kept her promise." OK, help me solve the mystery. What was the promise Mary kept?

I always enjoy architectural postcards and ones with mystery!!!! Always wonder what happened to the people. Happy PFF.

I am guessing she promised not to tell other people something about A.C. and Ralph.

Now that is a mystery...maybe that she wrote home, or married someone...or that she did her chores...LOL
Great card with a hint of adventure...

I am afraid we'll never know.

Maybe it was the promise to marry someone or maybe NOT to marry someone! I guess we'll never know.

Maybe to plant her garden -
with silver bells and cockles shells and pretty maids all in a row
Interesting card

Mary went to the police, so the sender did not have to go to the court house. Loved your post, the beautiful card and the little puzzle you gave us.

Another card leaving more questions than answers. I do like to ponder on things like this.

I'd love to think the courthouse had some relevance to the promise but I dare say that's unlikely.
