In any event, the message on the back is a great one: "Almost 400 miles. Good roads. Sunshine most all the way. Grass is green. 51 degrees. Candy gone by noon. Oranges gone by 3:30. Ate Brownies after Supper. Watching Red Skelton from our bed. Earl and Tess. Report this card to Alice."

Nice card and beautiful motel. Funny to know there's also a city called Cairo in Illinois.
LOL Yup. Go ask Alice what she put in the brownies. ;o)
I like this card. It is like the view of American motels I see on older films.
Howdy
Happy PFF to you :)
Thank you for such a great postcard with a fun little story of everyday life for the traveler of yesterday .
A few years back hubby and I broke down in the middle of no where and the only place to stay was an old Motel like the one in your postcard. While I almost backed out to just sleep in our little mini van it was too cold and the snow was falling fast so I caved and to our surprise it was really clean and comfy on the inside. Thanks for sharing this one !
Until next time
Happy Trails
Ah life on the road. Those old cars took an age to get anywhere, just as well to have plenty of supplies:-)
Love these old motels ... perhaps because they come with a few fun childhood memories! Nice card!
Glad you all liked this one! Tomorrow and Sunday (1/8 and 1/9) is Papermania in Hartford, CT. Maybe we'll run into each other?
They sure have enough signs in front. They must have liked seeing their name in big letters.
I wonder why it was called Morse. My first thought was of Morse code.
I just visited Cairi Illinois this past week (Sept 2016). This motel still stands but has been abandoned for a very long period of time. I took several pictures of it. I even found an authentic motel key with the motel name on it in one of the window ledges. An awesome little roadside find.
Heather -- that's very cool!
